In this episode, we interview Darren J. Gendron, aka Dern, the creator of the "gag-a-day" webcomic Hello With Cheese. Dern is a local writing, residing nearby in Columbia, MD. Dern is a pioneer in the realm of pun-based humor, and as Justin described it, "this comic is so groan-inducing at times it might give you a hernia." With that ringing endorsement, listen to this episode and then check out Hello With Cheese at www.dernwerks.com/HWC/

We had a great time this year at the Small Press Expo (SPX) in Bethesda, MD! SPXplosion was a smashing success - we did a total of 11 interviews with some really great artists - some up-and-coming, some who are big names in the world of webcomics, and we're going to dole them out to you guys one by one. In this episode, we interview John Allison, the creator of the long-running (and now finished) story webcomic Scary Go Round (www.scarygoround.com). Check out his current comic, Bad Machinery (www.badmachinery.com), which is about some kids who solve mysteries (kind of like The Boxcar Children). John joins us from the UK and has a voice that, as Colin described it, is like "liquid honey being injected into your eardrums."
In this episode, the guys recap their experience which mainly consists of Colin and Sean raving about a breakfast they had - much to Justin's annoyance.
In this week's episode, we are joined once again by Sean Holmes from B & S Reviews, now an official member of the BGN team. Justin rants about hackers, discusses vinyl records, and lists his top 5 album covers. Colin ranks the top 10 unappreciated movies ever and reviews PCU, a movie that nobody saw but everybody needs to. Music in this week's episode: "White Winter Hymnal" by Fleet Foxes.
The phoenix emerges from the ashes, born anew. It is a glorious sight. Boldly Going Nowhere returns, renewed with a divine lack of purpose. The change has come, and two nerds herald its coming. Which is to say, we're rebooting this bitch. Boldly Going Nowhere has undergone a complete overhaul. Today's theme is rebirth and other words that start with "re-" such as: restore, rejuvenate, remake, reboot.
Boldly Going Nowhere is back from the dead! In today's episode: fine literature, tales from Spring Break, and...something Justin found in his desk drawer. Music in today's episode includes "Where'd You Go?" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and...er, "Macho Man" Randy Savage's entrance music.
7/9/2010 0 Comments Boldly Going Nowhere: Episode 18 - Rap Music and Skyline (Donald Faison Should Get An Oscar)Justin bores everyone to tears by attempting to talk about rap music. He doesn't really know what he's talking about, but that's never stopped him before. Never fear, though, because there's plenty of hilarity to be found in the second half. Colin reviews some shitty movie called Skyline, and Justin attempts to derail the conversation into talking about Scrubs. Music in this episode: "Shere Khan" by Aesop Rock.
Segment lovers beware. We have one subject, Transformers 3. This hate-fueled episode is sure to have you wanting Michael Bay's head on a stick.
In today's triumphant return, Justin is joined by Tim, frequent partner in crime but first-time co-host on this show. Witness one man's struggle with insomnia, the perils of healthy eating, and tales of mirth and mayhem. Music in today's episode: "Can I Kick It?" by A Tribe Called Quest and "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath. I guess we should technically credit the Harlem Globetrotters theme song as well, "Sweet Georgia Brown" by Brother Bones.
In today's episode, Justin and Colin talk about surviving the Snowpocalypse, Donald Sutherland is Gandalf the White, and Steven Seagal is...still making movies?! Whaaaat? Music in this episode: "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime" as covered by Beck and "Live Forever" by Oasis.
In today's episode, Justin is joined by Lena, Tim, and introducing...Gary, who has returned from a semester abroad in Chile. Together, they wax philosophical about the National Bohemian mascot, discuss medical malpractice in Peru, and wrestle with the question: what the hell are "clappas?" Music in this episode: "Blue" by Eiffel 65 and "Snow (Hey Oh)" by Red Hot Chili Peppers.
COLIN RETURNS! In today's episode, Justin and Colin categorize gamer chicks, attempt to create an online virtual slut and finally reach an official stance regarding Avatar. Music in this episode: "Barbie Girl" by Aqua (Sorry.) and "I Can't Decide" by Scissor Sisters.
In this episode, Justin is joined by his girlfriend Lena to discuss snow days, sleep-talkers, sneaky septuagenarians, and the lunacy of the Apple iPad. Max chimes in too...I guess.
Justin is once again soldiering on alone, but Colin will be back for the next episode. Thankfully, surprise guest Evan Rosenberg steps in to help carry some of the weight. In this episode, Justin shares some TV gems you may not have discovered, gives his full review of The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, and offers yet another reason to hate the TSA - as if you needed another. Music in today's episode: "Solid" by The Dandy Warhols.
This week, Justin's on his own. He brings on his friend and roommate Max Tanzer to discuss club experiences, cockblocking, and spheres of consciousness. Also, Justin discusses this week's "Spectacle of Human Failure"...himself?
A new episode for the new year! Justin and Colin bring you into the new decade by making fun of the biggest movies of the year, running down some of the most ridiculous news stories, failing to not rip off Billy Joel, and speculating about polar bears. Music in this episode: "The Battle of Evermore" by Led Zeppelin and "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel. Happy New Year everyone!
The very first episode of Boldly Going Nowhere! Join your hosts Justin Eisenstadt and Colin Caccamise as they discuss the Biggie Smalls and denigrate AOL's journalistic standards. Musical selections from The Notorious B.I.G. and Ringo Starr, the latter of whom suffered no real lasting damage from this show.
